Is eagal leam am bàs – The Fear of Death is Upon Me
A particularly intimate Scottish Port attributed to Rory Dall in Daniel Dow’s 1776 publication, expressing in a very spare manner the love, fear and longing surrounding one’s own death. It also shows up as Port 7th in a set of Puirt – old Gaelic Harp tunes - in the MacLean-Clephane Harp Manuscript (1815) from the isle of Mull.
